A Venezuelan arepa filled with shredded beef, black beans, fried ripe plantains, tomato and pico de gallo, grilled and served as a complete meal.

Prepare the shredded meat in a skillet and season with salt and pepper to taste; heat the black beans over medium heat; fry or grill the ripe plantains as directed on their package; dice the tomato and set aside with the other ingredients.

Preheat the grill or skillet and grill the arepas on each side until golden brown.

Open the arepas lengthwise to create a pocket and fill with the plantains, beans, meat, and chopped tomato.

Serve with pico de gallo or guacamole sauce.
