1. Data Controller

The controller of your data is Mariano Pesallaccia, an independent developer based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. For any privacy question: support@tastynote.food.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide

  • Account data: name, email, and password.
  • Profile and preferences.
  • Recipes, meal plans, and notes you create or import.
  • Content you share within a household or with other users.
  • Communications you send us (support, feedback).

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Usage data (features used, actions, session duration).
  • Device information (type, operating system version).
  • Logs and diagnostics (IP address, access times, crash reports).

2.3 Sign in with Apple

If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive what Apple provides (your name and email, or a private relay email), subject to Apple's policy.

3. How We Use Your Data & Legal Bases

We process your data to: provide and maintain the App and its features; process your subscription; personalize the experience and AI; send administrative and security information; respond to your requests; analyze usage to improve; prevent abuse and technical issues; and comply with legal obligations.

Legal bases (where the GDPR applies): performance of the contract (providing the service), legitimate interests (improving and securing the App), consent (where required), and legal obligation.

4. Who We Share With

  • Other users: content you share in a household is accessible to its members; recipes you mark public may be visible to other users.
  • Service providers acting on our behalf (see section 5).
  • We do not sell or rent your personal data for third-party marketing.
  • Legal requirements: we may disclose data if required by law or to protect rights and people's safety.

5. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with:

  • Apple App Store / StoreKit — subscription management.
  • RevenueCat — subscription analytics.
  • Firebase / Google Analytics — usage analytics.
  • Sentry — error reporting and masked session replay (recordings of app interactions with sensitive content masked, for diagnostics).
  • Algolia — recipe search.
  • OpenAI — AI recipe generation and import from videos. For these features, the text you enter (for example, your prompt or the recipe to generate) is sent to OpenAI to produce the result.
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) — cloud hosting and infrastructure.

Each service has its own privacy policy. The current version of the App does not serve ads; if we enable advertising in the future, we will update this policy and request any required permissions.

6. Cloud Storage & Visibility

Your recipes and data are stored in the cloud to enable synchronization. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Do not upload sensitive personal information you would not want stored in the cloud.

7. International Transfers

Your data may be stored and processed on servers located outside your country, including the United States. Where applicable, we rely on appropriate safeguards (for example, Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your information.

8. Retention

We retain your data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it for legal reasons.

9. Your Rights

  • You may access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing, request portability, and withdraw consent.
  • You can delete your account from the App settings, or request deletion by contacting us.
  • To exercise these rights, email support@tastynote.food.
  • You have the right to complain to a supervisory authority: in Argentina, the Agency for Access to Public Information (AAIP); in the EU/EEA, your local data protection authority.
  • If you are a California resident (CCPA): you have the right to know, delete, and correct your data, and not to be subject to "sale" or "sharing"; we do not sell or share your personal information as defined by the CCPA.

10. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 (16 in the EU/EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age. If you believe this has happened, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notice, email, or by updating the "Last Updated" date.
