
Walnut Roll Gužvara
A Croatian walnut-filled yeast pastry rolled into two loaves, baked until golden and fluffy, then glazed with milk and icing sugar.
Steps

Mix all the dough ingredients together and knead well.

Cover the dough and let it rise until doubled in size (about 2 hours).

Knock back the dough and knead lightly.

Divide the dough into two equal pieces and roll each into a 12x8 inch oblong.

Mix the filling ingredients and divide between the dough, spreading over each piece.

Roll up the oblongs tightly to form two 12 inch loaves.

Place side by side on a greased baking sheet, cover, and let rise about 40 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 200°C 200 °C · 392 °F · Gas 6 · Medium heat (425°F 218 °C · 425 °F · Gas 7 · High heat) and bake for 30-35 minutes until well risen and golden brown.

Remove from oven and brush the tops with milk; sift generously with icing sugar.
