
Mutabbaq
Savory fried pastry parcels filled with spiced minced meat, garlic, ginger, egg, tomato and spring onions, folded in filo pastry and fried until golden (baked option available).

Heat the frying pan with oil. Sauté minced garlic and ginger, then add the minced meat and all seasonings. Cook until the meat is done; set aside to cool.

In a large bowl, whisk the eggs and add chopped tomatoes, chopped spring onions, and the cooled meat.

Lay out two sheets of filo pastry (or one sheet of spring roll wrapper). Brush with melted butter and place filling in the center. Fold the pastry to enclose the filling and brush more butter on the seal part.

Heat a frying pan with oil and cook the parcels until both sides and edges turn golden brown. Alternatively, brush with melted butter and bake at 180°C 180 °C · 356 °F · Gas 4 · Fuego medio (350°F 177 °C · 350 °F · Gas 4 · Fuego medio) for 10–15 minutes.
